Materials & Certifications
At PRUNĂ, "premium" is not a marketing adjective – it is a set of choices you can understand: which fibres we use, how much the fabric weighs, how it is constructed, where it is made and which standards apply within its supply chain.
Materials
PRUNĂ products are made from carefully selected materials, depending on the model: organic cotton, recycled cotton and, for certain components, recycled polyester.
Many of our garments are made from 100% organic cotton, while selected styles combine organic cotton with recycled cotton. Accessories may use different material combinations depending on their function and construction. The exact composition is always stated on each product page.
The fabrics used for our T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and beanies are knitted. Depending on the model, the construction may be single jersey, interlock or brushed fleece, each creating a different weight, texture, structure and drape. Pure Carry is the exception, being made from woven canvas.

Across the current PRUNĂ T-shirt collection, fabric weights range from 200 GSM to 370 GSM, depending on the model and construction.

Calm Dune is garment-dyed. This process gives each piece its individual character, and slight variations in colour may occur.
Accessories
Pure Carry is made from 100% recycled cotton, woven canvas, 220 GSM.
Pure Knit features a knitted jersey shell made from 100% organic cotton and a polar fleece lining at the brim made from 100% recycled polyester.
Certifications & standards
The materials and base garments used for PRUNĂ products come, where applicable, from supply chains certified under recognised international textile standards. These certifications are held at producer level and by relevant operators within the supply chain, for the materials, product categories and processes covered by each certification.
GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard (version 7.0). Within the certified scope, GOTS covers eligible organic textile products and processes and includes requirements relating to organic fibres, restricted chemicals, environmental management, traceability and social criteria.
OCS – Organic Content Standard (version 3.0). Within the certified scope, OCS provides verification of certified organic material content and its traceability through the supply chain, including products in which organic cotton is combined with other fibres.
GRS – Global Recycled Standard (version 4.0). Within the certified scope, GRS applies to eligible products containing certified recycled materials and includes requirements relating to recycled content, traceability, environmental practices and social criteria.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. Applicable product categories are tested for a wide range of potentially harmful substances. The relevant product class may vary depending on garment type, material composition and intended use.
PETA-Approved Vegan. According to the base garment producer, its products are made without materials of animal origin and are included in the PETA-Approved Vegan programme.
Working conditions. The base garment producer has been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation since 2012. Fair Wear works to improve labour conditions in the garment industry through monitoring, social audits and corrective action programmes in partner factories.
Origin
For the models currently used in the PRUNĂ collection, fabric production, dyeing and assembly of the base garments take place in Bangladesh.
Care
To help preserve shape, texture and colour for as long as possible:
- Wash at a maximum of 30°C, with similar colours
- Wash and iron inside out
- Never iron directly on the print
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry
- Always follow the individual care label where specific instructions differ
Environmental impact
For selected models, life-cycle assessment data (LCA) is available at producer level, including information relating to carbon emissions and water use.
Environmental-impact figures vary depending on model, fabric weight, fibre composition, colour and production process. For this reason, PRUNĂ does not use a single environmental-impact figure to represent the entire collection.
